The LES Digital Platform (“the Platform”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a Learning Outcome-based Education System operated in partnership between the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) and UNICEF Bangladesh. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the LES Digital Platform web portal (accessible at this website) and the companion LES Digital Platform Android application (“the App”), together referred to as “the Services”.
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not access or use the Services.
The LES Digital Platform is administered by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), Bangladesh, with technical and programmatic support from UNICEF Bangladesh. The Services are intended for use by authorized school administrators, subject teachers, and monitoring/evaluation personnel to record, track, and report student Learning Outcome data as part of a government education initiative.

Students themselves do not directly register for or log into the Platform. Student records and assessment results are entered and managed on their behalf by authorized teachers and school administrators as part of routine academic monitoring.
When an authorized user account is created for you, we collect your name, email address, phone number, assigned role, and associated school or division/district. Account credentials are managed by system administrators; the App does not offer public self-registration.
The Platform stores curriculum-aligned academic records entered by teachers and school administrators, including: student name and class/section, subject scores and item-level responses, Learning Outcome/competency levels, and monthly progress tracking data. This data is collected solely for the purpose of monitoring and improving learning outcomes under the DSHE/UNICEF education program.
When you use the Android App, we may automatically collect limited technical information necessary for the App to function reliably, such as device model, operating system version, app version, and basic crash/error diagnostics. This information is used only to maintain and improve the App’s stability and performance.
Protecting the privacy of children is a core principle of this Platform, consistent with UNICEF’s child safeguarding standards. Student data is not collected directly from children; it is entered and maintained by authorized teachers and school administrators as part of official academic recordkeeping, and access is restricted to personnel with a legitimate educational monitoring role.
Student academic records are used exclusively for educational assessment, progress tracking, and program evaluation. They are never used for advertising, marketing, or any commercial purpose, and are not sold, rented, or shared with unauthorized third parties. Where student data is used in public-facing dashboards, reports, or demonstrations, it is aggregated and/or de-identified to protect individual student privacy.

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS), role-based access control, authenticated API access, and restricted administrative privileges. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain account and academic data for as long as necessary to fulfil the educational monitoring purposes described in this Policy, or as required by DSHE/UNICEF program and record-keeping requirements. When data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymized in accordance with our data retention practices.
If you are an authorized user of the Platform, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by contacting your school administrator or the Platform administrator using the details in Section 15. Requests relating to student records should be directed to the relevant school administration, who can escalate to DSHE/UNICEF as needed.
We rely on a small number of trusted infrastructure providers to operate the Services, including web hosting/CDN and backend server hosting. These providers process data solely to deliver the Services to you and are bound by appropriate confidentiality and security obligations. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics services that track users across other apps or websites.
The LES Digital Platform Android app requests only the device permissions necessary for it to function — for example, internet/network access to communicate with our servers. The App does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, or media unless a specific feature that requires it is introduced, in which case this Policy will be updated to describe that use before the permission is requested.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when this Policy was last revised. Continued use of the Services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
